This is the third time we've seen the Sapphire Chrysanthemum Brooch this year, the most so far of any year I've tracked here. Dark horse for the year-end faves list? (Also, hi Sophie!)

Tricky (again), but looks like the Pearl Trefoil Brooch.

I originally called this the Kent Amethyst but with some reservations; thanks to Snug Harbor matching up the dress with its coat at other occasions, showing it is a blue dress and not purple, that identification has been changed to Prince Albert's Sapphire.

Also: Margaret Atwood! A Companion of Honour today and she's one of the winners of the Booker Prize. She is having a month.

And just like that, we're back to the norm: a brooch for sure, but no idea which one.

It's a minor miracle, but there's actually enough brooch to identify here: the Kent Amethyst! Love that choice for this dress.

October 20: The Queen attended church while staying at Windsor Castle for the weekend.

Hopping back a bit (thanks to Jelena), Her Maj wore the Aquamarine Clip Brooches. You can see a picture here at Shutterstock.

This rarely seen brooch from The Queen's collection includes a central square-shaped pale blue-green stone, likely aquamarine, with two detailed square sections on either side forming a rectangular bar brooch. It may also include diamonds or darker stones.

The Queen can be seen wearing the brooch in the documentary Monarchy: The Royal Family at Work while checking on the preparations ahead of a Buckingham Palace garden party in the summer of 2006. She wore it again in 2019 for an audience at Buckingham Palace, making it either a rare brooch overall or simply one worn most frequently in private.

With thanks to Ann.

Oooh now this is interesting: a brooch we haven't covered here before! Looks like an aquamarine with some diamonds to either side. (Similar in shape to an unknown brooch from an audience in 2016, though the edges look different.)

After a surprise sighting of the two smaller Nizam of Hyderabad Rose Brooches over the summer, the big one is back to rule the scene.
