Mmkay, you're going to have to watch the video (in the tweet below or a slightly longer one here) and squint past the printed dress to see if you agree with me on the brooch - I'm calling it for the Women of Hampshire.

A brooch treat today! We haven't seen the Carrington Sapphire Feather Brooch in action since 2014.

Worth the wait, though, don't you agree? This is an exquisite piece. Looking extra purple-y today, even on a strong blue background.

This outfit was worn for last year's Royal Maundy service without any brooch. It looks like The Queen has reduced the size of the fur collar between appearances - good news for us, since she made room for a brooch. (But I still think we could do something about the fur edge on the hat while we're in minimizing mode.)

Fabulous color combo from one of today's guests (see more here; this is Her Excellency Ms. Manisha Gunasekara, Ambassador from the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka), and I need hardly tell you how I feel about the host's purple and amethyst brooch.

So glad to have this view, I wouldn't want to miss an appearance of this brooch beauty. It also appears that Her Maj is back to her regular triple strand of pearls, compared to the version most recently seen.

Practically need a side view to spy Queen Mary's Russian Brooch peeking out from under her lapel, but as it happens, a side view is the best way to appreciate the size of these stones anyway. The pearls are looking like they have more space between strands than usual today, so I wish we also had a clasp view.

Her Maj is back, her brooch is back, we've got a wide shot for those of you that love a game of Side Table Photo Identification, this honored guest is wearing a splendid coat for visiting a room with bird statues on the mantle (she's The Hon. Vicki O'Halloran, visiting to mark her appointment as Administrator of the Northern Territory in Australia), all is well.

I don't know about these ginormous pockets. I can more easily understand the lack of a brooch, since it would have to be the Frosted Sunflower or something like that to stand up to this fabric anyway.
