Lovely view of the Diamond and Pearl Navette Brooch from a card-carrying member of #TeamShades! This brooch had its big public debut at another garden party back in 2016.

The Duke of York and The Earl and Countess of Wessex joined Her Maj for this event, which was the first garden party of the year. Stay tuned to the other blog tomorrow for Sophie's outfit.

Also today, The Queen held audiences at Buckingham Palace.

Took me a second thanks to the brooch-concealing print on the dress, but we have a lovely surprise here: a second 2018 appearance for the Multi-Color Pendant Brooch! There's a video from this group of audiences (below) that shows a front view, although I can't say that makes it any easier to spot.

Royal Windsor Horse Show

May 9-13: The Queen attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show at Home Park, Windsor.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show is mainly an opportunity to see The Queen in casual mode - this year's casual outfits included a Two Strand Pearl Necklace, Pearl Stud Earrings, one of her Black Strap Watches, and her Engagement and Wedding Rings - but a few brooches also manage to get in on the action.

May 12: The Triple Diamond Bar Brooch came out for some of the prize presentations.

May 13: The Centenary Rose Brooch made its first appearance of the year.

And it looks like we have a third brooch here, at what I suppose is some of the evening entertainment. Maybe The Queen Mother's Palm Leaf Brooch, hard to be sure.

Royal Tank Regiment New Standard Presentation and Badge

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, presented the Royal Tank Regiment with a new Standard in St. George's Hall, Windsor Castle.

The Queen is wearing her regimental badge for this occasion, and this photo nicely shows how it echoes those used on the caps and uniforms worn by the regiment.

The Royal Tank Regiment Badge is new to the blog today, but far from new to The Queen; she has worn their badge for decades for events with the regiment.

The badge features a stylized early tank and the "Fear Naught" motto of the regiment.

London Marathon

The Queen, from Windsor Castle, was the official starter for the London Marathon.

Her Maj's very busy weekend culminates in a trip out to the lawn to push a button. And a Cullinan!

The Queen's Birthday Party

The Queen, accompanied by members of the Royal Family, attended a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in celebration of her 92nd birthday.

The birthday girl was shimmering in gold and decked out in pearls and diamonds, with some of her favorite pieces for evening events that aren't too formal. (Because how formal can one get while watching Shaggy perform, right?)

The earrings from Queen Alexandra's Wedding Parure and a longer version of her standard three strand pearl necklace will do just fine. I make little attempt to differentiate between her many pearl necklaces here, but we can see that this one has a detailed pearl and diamond clasp.

Just a little bit of extra bling joined the party in the form of one of The Queen Mother's Cartier bracelets.

Engagement and Wedding Rings

The Royal Family packed the seats for this event! Kents in the box to the left, Gloucesters (and Chattos) in the box to the right, and the main royal box filled with members of Her Maj's immediate family, royal fiancés included.

We'll hit highlights from the other guests at the other blog. We'll catch a pair of sparkly earrings here, though:

The Duchess of Cornwall wore her Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra Diamond Earrings! Love the purple dress and love those dangling gems (not least because we can actually see them beneath the hair, ahem). Her pearl choker is one we actually haven't covered yet, one of her more recent additions with a sapphire (or other dark stone) clasp.
