Battle of Britain Anniversary Flypast

The Queen watched a flypast from the balcony of Buckingham Palace to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Also present were The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of Cambridge, The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent, Prince Michael of Kent, and Princess Alexandra of Kent.
A bright and cheery combo for Her Maj today, made to stand out on that balcony, with her old faithful Jardine Star Brooch at her side.
Speaking of old faithfuls, Prince Philip got up to some old faithful tricks of his own at a luncheon later. But before that, it was a refreshing change of uniform pace for the family on the balcony. I do like the sight of all those RAF uniforms all lined up, don't you?

Yeoman of the Guard Review

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, reviewed The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard in the garden at Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty then hosted a reception.
Hmm. This hat reminds me of the hat she wore to the recent garden party in Germany, almost a cloche style. And...no thank you.
The Aqua Clips on the other hand...yes please.

The Christening of Princess Charlotte

The Queen, along with other members of the Royal Family, attended the christening of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham.
We will be covering this event tomorrow on the other blog, but over here, we'll cover the interests of this blog (that would be the jewels of The Queen and The Duchess of Cornwall, in case you hadn't picked up on that).

The Queen selected the Gold Filigree Brooch(Singapore Peranakan Diamond Jubilee Brooch) to go with her pale pink outfit, and I think this is my favorite appearance of this brooch yet - light, fresh, and summery! Perfect for the christening of a great-granddaughter. This brooch first appeared in 2012 and though we don't know anything about its history, we've seen it several times since. Update: It was a gift from Singapore, turned into a personal favorite.
(Also relevant to all interests, everywhere: consultations of great importance with one's great granny.)

The Duchess of Cornwall paired her Everyday Pearl Earrings with her Pearl Four Strand choker with Large Diamond Clasp - a frequent selection for special occasions - and layered that over the small "C" charm chain she's been wearing with everything lately.

Also, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attended Sunday service at Sandringham earlier (they were not arriving for the christening itself here, despite what the caption the tweet below says).
Not seen in this snap (but seen elsewhere), The Queen was wearing the Cambridge Pearl Pendant Brooch.

Again, stay tuned tomorrow at the other blog for coverage of the rest of the event.

Holyrood Week, Day 5: Royal Auxiliary Air Force Visit

On the last day of Holyrood Week, The Queen, Honorary Air Commodore, and The Duke of Edinburgh visited the Royal Auxiliary Air Force's (RAuxAF) 603 Squadron, Edinburgh, Scotland.
A military badge today, one she's worn previously for events with this group. Perhaps a feature later if a better look at the details emerges.

Holyrood Week, Day 4: Visit to Glasgow

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh visited Glasgow on the fourth day of their annual week of Scottish engagements. They attended the opening of Strathclyde University's Technology and Innovation Centre and the openings of The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and The Royal Hospital for Children.
That's definitely a stray bit of Muppet fluff on her hat, but I still love that cornflower blue with the darker sapphire and pearl of Empress Marie Feodorovna's brooch. Delicious.

Holyrood Week, Day 3: Scottish Veterans Garden City Association

On the third day of her annual week of engagements in Scotland, The Queen visited the Scottish Veterans Garden City Association to mark their centenary.
Animal brooches are not normally Her Maj's thing, so I was curious to see if the Double Swan Brooch would be seen again after its debut at Ascot last year. And, well, ta-daaa!
I like this color on HM, it's good for brooch highlighting (which, obvs, is the only priority). This is a good hat too, so I'm giving this appearance an A+ all around.

Holyrood Week, Day 2: Garden Party and Audiences

The Queen held a Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The Duke of Edinburgh, The Earl of Wessex and The Princess Royal were also in attendance.
Looks like the Kent Amethyst, and I do like the lilac outfit against the lush green and stone background here.

The Queen also held audiences at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
And she held an investiture, perhaps in this outfit too. Alas, I can't quite make out the brooch.
