State Visit to Germany, Garden Party

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attended a Garden Party hosted by the British Ambassador in Berlin during their state visit to Germany.
Now we're talking! This isn't a brooch debut, but The Queen has worn this ruby and diamond brooch from The Queen Mother's collection only a few times previously, so we're still in the rare department of the brooch stash. (Interestingly, much like the Multi-Color French Flower Brooch from the official welcome ceremony of this trip, this brooch also made an appearance during last year's French state visit.)
I think it's had more impact on colored coats in the past as opposed to this white background (her outfit here is described as a "Stewart Parvin shift dress of white cotton tweed flecked with coral ribbon with a matching coat edged in bias fringed braid and a hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan"), but you still can't miss that this is a seriously sizable jewel.

State Visit to France, State Banquet

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh attended a State Banquet hosted by President Hollande at Élysée Palace.
Video: The Queen's speech, delivered in both French and English. (For those of you wondering, yes, she does speak French, and apparently declined a translator for the trip.) For more: Article from the Daily Mail, gallery from Zimbio.
One Queen Mum brooch for the day, one for the evening - and a rarely seen ruby number too. I confess I had a sliver of hope that she might go the full Queen Mother, if you will, and give us an outing of the Oriental Circlet with the Crown Rubies. But alas, it was not to be. Regardless, it was nice to see her stick to a white tie dress code with her French order and tiara, even as the banquet was black tie. She did it up right.

We even got to see the bar brooch she wore on her back to secure her sash, courtesy of a tweet from banquet attendee, chef Raymond Blanc:

The Queen Mother's Ruby and Diamond Bouquet Brooch

The Queen Mother's Ruby and Diamond Bouquet Brooch
One of The Queen Mother's many brooches was this bouquet of sprays of diamonds and rubies tied with a diamond bow, which has an unknown history. As with the rest of her jewels, it passed to The Queen in 2002, following The Queen Mother's death.

It's a delicate and dainty piece, but actually pretty large for a brooch. It does not seem to have been worn often by The Queen Mother, and her daughter so far is following suit. She has used it only a handful of times, starting with the Royal Maundy Service in 2008.
